Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE has extended the application deadline for its initial public offering (IPO) by two weeks, giving prospective investors until Tuesday, October 27, 2026, to apply for shares in the refinery.

The extension follows approval from Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The offer opened on September 14 and was originally scheduled to close on October 13. In a notice dated October 12, the company said the additional time would support market-access initiatives across African jurisdictions and give applicants more time to complete account-opening, identity-verification and regulatory requirements.

The offer comprises 4.1 billion ordinary shares priced at ₦525 each. The minimum subscription is 10 shares, costing ₦5,250 before any applicable charges.

What investors should know about the Dangote Refinery IPO

Applications should be submitted only through the receiving agents or electronic application channels listed on the official IPO portal. Investors should not send subscription money to individuals or unauthorised accounts.

The SEC has advised prospective investors to obtain information from official channels and verify websites before sharing personal or financial information. Be wary of anyone promising guaranteed share allocations or requesting PINs, passwords or one-time passcodes.

Revised Dangote Refinery IPO timetable

The revised indicative timetable sets October 27, 2026, as the application closing date. Collation of application returns is scheduled for November 3, while submission of the basis-of-allotment proposal and draft allotment announcement to the SEC is scheduled for November 10. The regulator’s no-objection to the basis of allotment is expected on November 17.

The allotment announcement and transfer of net offer proceeds are expected one business day after the allotment date. Refunds for surplus or rejected applications are expected within five business days, while crediting shares to successful applicants’ CSCS accounts and commencement of trading are scheduled for 15 business days after the allotment date. These dates are indicative and may change.

How to apply safely

Read the offer documents, confirm the latest timetable and use only the receiving agents or electronic application channels listed on the official IPO website: ipo.dangote.com.

The minimum subscription is ₦5,250 for 10 shares at the offer price of ₦525 per share, before any applicable charges. The offer price does not guarantee that the shares will rise in value after listing. Any future market price will depend on trading conditions and investor demand.

What the extension means

The extension gives eligible investors additional time to complete the application process, but it does not remove the need to understand the offer terms and risks. Investors should make decisions based on the prospectus and their own financial circumstances rather than social-media claims or promises of guaranteed returns.
